Axiom 4 crew ready for launch to ISS

Ax-4, Axiom’s fourth crewed flight to the International Space Station, ISS, is to launch on a SpaceX Falcon 9 rocket on June 19, 2025.

It was earlier scheduled for June 11, but a liquid oxygen leak in the booster delayed the launch by a day.

Another leak in Zvezda, the Russian service module in the space station, further delayed things.

June 19 is now the lift-off date, 08:53 WAT, from Launch Complex-39A, NASA’s Kennedy Space Centre, Florida.

A fomer NASA astronaut Peggy Whitson is mission commander.

The other crew member is Shubhanshu Shukla of India as mission pilot.

Sławosz Uznański-Wiśniewski from Poland and Tibor Kapu from Hungary are mission specialists.

It will be the first time astronauts from India, Poland or Hungary will be in the ISS.

They are bringing as many as 60 science experiments to the ISS.
